Conference Call Frequently Asked Questions
| Each month you will join a half-hour conference call training with other managers from various companies to walk through the month's module and hear any additional pointers on how to make this month's discussion work well. If time allows, you can ask questions to make sure you're confident in leading the discussion with your team.
The moderator for the conference call will be either Rebecca or one of her senior consultants. Depending on scheduling, it may not be the same person each time, and it may be a different person each time. The person who leads the conference call will be well-qualified to respond to your issues. If there isn't time for your question, you can email it to rebecca@RebeccaMorgan.com and Rebecca or one of her senior consultants will respond to you promptly.
Why should I come to the conference call? Can't I just read the leaders guide? Of course you can read the leaders guide, and for a few people that would be sufficient preparation. However, our experience is that most people want and gain value from a training on the materials so they are more comfortable leading the discussion with their staff. If you bought a book by Bob Vila on home repair, wouldn't you find it valuable to have a brief conference call with him before you begin your project? If you bought a cookbook from Wolfgang Puck, wouldn't it be useful to hear him discuss the recipe before you cook it, outlining any nuances or hints that may not be in the book? If you were going to start a project from Martha Stewart's magazine, wouldn't you like to hear her walk you through it before you got underway? That's what you'll get by having Rebecca Morgan, customer service expert and author of these Guides, walk you through each one every month. You'll get the just-in-time training you'll need to make these discussions most successful. We'll walk you through the leaders guide for the month's module, and you'll answer the questions that you'll be asking your staff. We'll run the conference call as an abbreviated version of the discussion you'll be leading, so you can see how you can do this for your team. Afterward, we'll open it up to questions you may have about leading the discussion. When are the conference calls scheduled? The conference calls will generally be scheduled the first week of the month, so you can then use that month's Discussion Guide any time in the month. Additional conference calls will be added as needed, so you can check www.RebeccaMorgan.com to see which time would be most convenient to you. When it isn't feasible to schedule a call the first week of the month, as it sometimes isn't the first week in January, then the calls will be scheduled at the beginning of the second week. You'll receive an email the last week of the month giving you the scheduled calls for the next month. You need to go here to register for your preferred call time so we can make sure there will be room for you on the call. After you've registered, you'll receive a confirmation email with the phone number to call and access code. You'll need to have with you your Discussion Guide for the corresponding month so you can follow along and take notes. You can register for another conference call session that month on a space-available basis. The training will be taped and available at a special phone number for one week afterward. You will need to contact us for that special number if you want to listen to the taped training. If I miss a call, or decide not to attend, do I get a credit for that month? No. The program is designed around the calls and if you miss one there is no credit. You can listen to the taped version within one week of the call. What if I'm on vacation or sick that week? You may listen to the taped call, or, one time during the year, you may send a substitute to the conference call. This person must register with us as your substitute via an email to us, and the person who attends the conference call briefing needs to also be the one leading the staff discussion that month. What if I'm traveling that week? Many people find they can still schedule the half-hour call, even when traveling. Or you can listen to the taped version of the call, or you can send a substitute for one time. Can I use a speakerphone so my second-in-command can listen in case I'm concerned that I can't conduct the discussion that month? Speakerphones aren't allowed on the conference call. We find them to be too noisy for others listening in on the call. Will I get an 800 number to call? These conference calls are not via an 800 number. I have a colleague who would love to sit in on one of the briefings and try this program in his/her organization. Can I share the number to call in? We are happy to extend an invitation for a guest of yours for a one-time experience. Have him/her register here. We'll send the information s/he needs to join the call. We'll welcome as many guests as you'd like for a one-time only conference call training. My team is spread around the country/world. Can I use these guides with them? These Guides can be adapted to a teleconference meeting. If you would like to lead your discussion via a conference call, contact us for tips on how to do so. What if I want to connect with others I meet on these calls? Is there a list of the other subscribers I can get? Your privacy is important to us. We won't release your information without your permission. If you want to connect with someone from a call, email us and we will forward your message to that person so s/he can contact you if desired. |
